Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB (publ) (“SBB”) acquires a property portfolio of six residential properties from the municipality-owned real-estate company KKB Fastigheter AB (“KKB”) in Kävlinge. The underlying property value amounts to approximately SEK 545 million.

The properties comprise about 26,600 square meters of lettable area and the average apartment size is 65 square meters. The rental income amounts to approximately SEK 32 million.

“By selling these six properties, we create opportunities to increase housing construction in the municipality and provide resources to invest in existing property holdings,” says Mikael Strand, KKB’s CEO.

SBB’s philosophy is to own and manage properties with a long-term ownership strategy. The company owns and manages rental apartments in more than 30 locations in Sweden and community services properties throughout the Nordic region.  The company is a member of Public Housing Sweden (Sveriges Allmännytta). In 2018, SBB was named the winner of the Real Estate Company of the Year Award.

“We have been focusing on finding a well-known, well-reputed company with a long-term ownership strategy that invests in rental properties. We are confident that KKB’s tenants will have the same positive experience with their new property owner as they have with KKB,” says Mikael Strand, KKB’s CEO.

SBB further strengthens its commitment in municipalities with growth potential and looks forward to continuing to develop the housing market together with KKB and Kävlinge municipality.

“We are continuing with our strategy of investing in rental properties in municipalities with growth potential. The properties that we acquire from KKB are fantastic. We will take an active role and contribute to the municipality’s social development by producing new residentials in the municipality,” says Ilija Batljan, CEO and Founder, Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden.

“I am pleased that we are continuing to increase our presence in southern Sweden and the Öresund region. We look forward to continuing growing and to developing the excellent work KKB has done with the properties,” says Ola Svensson, Regional Manager Öresund, Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden.
