Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB (publ) (“SBB”) continues to expand in Finland through the acquisition of an elderly care property in Helsinki, capital of Finland.

The rentable area of the property totals approximately 4,320 square meters. The property is leased to Mehiläinen Oy on a ten year term at an annual rent of EUR 555,000. Mehiläinen is a fast-growing Finnish healthcare company owned by Ambea and operates 22 elderly care centres in 19 municipalities and 9 hospitals.

SBB currently owns three elderly care properties in the Tampere area with a total rentable area of approximately 11,000 square meters. This acquisition expands SBB’s holdings in Finland to a total of four properties.

“SBB is already the largest player in community service property segment in Oslo, the capital of Norway. We are focusing on elderly care properties and schools in Helsinki and aim to become the largest owner of community service properties in the Nordics. We now look forward to a long term relationship with our new tenant Mehiläinen Oy,” comments Ilija Batljan, CEO and founder of SBB.

Completion will take place on April 30, 2018.
