Morphic Technologies subsidiary, Cell Impact AB, has received an order to manufacturing components for an international telecom customer. The component is part of a prototype for a future product and, upon a positive evaluation, will be mass-produced at the beginning of 2008.
The company’s patented production technology for high-impact pressing allows a more complex geometry of the component at the same time as it is manufactured in a single blow instead of being manufactured in several steps using the conventional machining methods. These advantages entail a cost-effective manufacturing process and optimal production efficiency for the client. The order for the prototype series is valued at MSEK 0.4.
Cell Impact’s main business is producing flow plates for fuel cells and heat exchangers, so the company has adapted its production line for this purpose. Another line is going to be installed this year specifically designed for vehicles. For a long time now, Cell Impact has also provided information and demonstrations of its machine technology for clients interested in advanced component production.
“These are the same clients who see possibilities for components close at hand and we are therefore expanding our portfolio,” says Martin Valfridsson, CEO for Cell Impact. “The decision to broaden subcontracting production of components in our high-impact machines entail that Cell Impact can also take over the development of the machines.”
Due to the structure changes, the Morphic Group gets a company able to offer a full range of services within high-impact technology. Dynamis AB, having previously developed machines will focus on becoming a global systems supplier for Dynamis AB’s proprietary handling and measuring system, SensActive.
