Last night, March 9, Sweden’s foremost entrepreneur was crowned at the national finals by EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. Ilija Batljan, founder and CEO of Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB (publ) (“SBB”), won the main prize EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. Entrepreneurs from all over the country competed for the title in the 26th edition of the competition in Sweden and Ilija Batljan will be Sweden’s representative in the world final in Monaco.

Sweden’s foremost entrepreneur was voted by a national, independent jury consisting of key people in the business world and entrepreneurs who have previously received the award. The jury examines the finalists based on the competition’s six categories. The jury is led by Günther Mårder, CEO of Företagarna.

This year’s national jury had three new members; the entrepreneur and former FIFA referee Jonas Eriksson, Claes Dinkelspiel, founder and chairman of Nordnet and Thomas Karlsson, owner of Gekås Ullared. Other jury members were Lena Olving, who was named Sweden’s most powerful woman in business in 2010, Maria A Grimaldi, executive advisor, board professional and investor, Lisa Rejler, board member at Rejlers and winner of EY Family Business Award 2017, Pär Svärdson, CEO and founder by Apotea and winner of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019.
