Morphic Technologies subsidiary, Dynamis AB, has received an order from Haldex Brake Products AB for its materials-handling system, SensActive.

SensActive’s bin-picking functions will be used in a comprehensive materials-handling system integrated in the Haldex production process. This order will entail total responsibility as the systems integrator for Dynamis. The system will be delivered in autumn 2007.

SensActive identifies and handles unsorted items. With the help of a robot, the system allows for objects to be picked and handled directly from the transport pallet (bin picking), something that wasn’t possible before. Parts can lie completely unorganized in the transport packaging, even standing vertically, as 3D measurment technology is used. The technology, the one of its kind in the world, is expected to set a new standard within materials handling in the manufacturing industry.

“Today’s order is proof that our customers are realizing the possibilities with our materials-handling systems. We are especially pleased that Haldex, a global commercial vehicle producer, has demonstrated their confidence in us as the lead systems integrator. Haldex Brake Products AB is the first to chose 3D handling with SensActive instead of conventional handling systems. Our bin-picking technology exudes innovation and outside-the-box thinking that makes more effective and compact handling of complex parts possible as compared to existing alternatives”, says Anders Reyler, CEO for Dynamis AB.

Dynamis launched SensActive in the autumn 2006 and, so far, has sold stand alone systems for checking component measurements.

Haldex Brake Products is a part of the Swedish industrial group, Haldex (www.haldex.se), a company that supplies vehicle-oriented, technological solutions designed inhouse within different niches to the global vehicle industry.
